Contential Cup/last two weekend in PEI and upcoming provincial events

Last weekend there was a ladies Cashspiel in Cornwall and Kathy O'Rourke beat Kim Dolan in the final.  This weekend our club the Silver Fox Curling & Yacht Club hosted a men's warm-up and Roddie MacDonald beat Robert Campbell in the final.  Congratulation to both teams.  Coming up quickly to provincials and really looking forward to them.  Provincial scotties are held the last weekend of this month in Cornwall with 6 teams.  The provincial tankard is held the weekend after at the Silver Fox with 15 teams.  Good luck too all teams and will be watching as much as I can.  Next weekend Charlottetown will host the Mark's Cashspiel.
Let's see.  Here are my thoughts on the Contenential Cup.  I like watching it but like many I know at least this event shouldn't  be happening or at least not Canadian Curling Association who take on the event as they say they have no money for other things that are more important than a event like this.  Even making volunteers paying for volunteering and they can't at least put the prizes down but instead they want to run this event which had no one there the first few days.  Congratulations to team North America on winning the cup and one event left tonight.  Kevin Martin plays Thomas Ulsrud in a skins game worth money.  Hope if they keep saying they are loosing money that they get their act together and stop this event as it's not a national event where many people enjoy watching and supporting.
Hope all is well with everybody.  Take Care,
Amanda

Provincial Juniors, Moncton

Hi Everybody.  Sorry I'm late on this but I finally decided to start my next entry.  Over the weekend I headed to Moncton for the ACT Championships and got to see some great curling friends again.  Congratulations to the Chad Stevens team of Chad Stevens, Graham Breckon, Scott Saccary and Kevin Saccary.  Two tournament in row for this team and both were in Moncton.  Good luck to all teams in their provincial playdowns which are being held in the next few week.  New Brunswick preliminaries this weekend and Nova Scotia zones next weekend and in PEI it's looking like they will be one weekend held for the time ever the first weekend of February at my home club Silver Fox Curling & Yacht Club.
Provincials playdowns were held in PEI this week.  Sorry I didn't get down.  The winners were on the mens side Spencer Pitre, Matthew Nabuurs, Eric Pidgeon and Connor MacPhee and coach Peter Pidgeon and on the womens side defending champions of Sarah Fullerton, Michelle McQuaid, Sarah MacRae and Whitney with coach Angela Hodgson.  Some more are being held now or starting this weekend.  Hope everybody has a great time in Calgary.  Will miss going to nationals this year as this will be first year in four years not going after having so much fun.
Starting work on Tuesday and really glad to back.  If though we had no power today and got of early.  Will make more post the first of next week and will keep people posted.  Also a Happy New Year to everybody.
